How to unlock your .ecp file wallet.

​Important: .ecp file wallet is no longer offered, this guide is only for customers who had a wallet issued prior to May 2020.

If you are able to find the email that was sent to you when you first got the .ecp file wallet, then you can go through these steps to access your crypto.

Please take extreme care when doing this and ensure that all security scans and software is up to date on your device.

You first need to save your .ecp file wallet attachment out of your email.

Open our Unlock page here.
​

Once you arrive on the page, you should see an option to Unlock your .ecp file wallet:

Click on Select file and choose the file you saved in Step 1.

Enter your passphrase. This is the seven-word phrase that you had to write down when you placed your order.
​

Click the Unlock button.
​

Your wallet should now be unlocked and your balance should display! 😁

By its design, a cold storage wallet can't be used to transfer funds - it does just one thing, which is securely store your currencies. This is an intentional decision because it is the most secure way that you can store a cryptocurrency.

You cannot move your coins directly from an Easy Crypto Wallet. You need to first import your coins to a "hot wallet", so that you are able to make a transaction.
​

Step 1: Install Exodus from their website.

Step 2: Follow our guide to Import your balance into Exodus.

Step 3: Click Send in Exodus, and put in the address and amount that you want to send.
