We know there are particular circumstances that might mean you can’t get a licence or passport… Don’t worry, we’ve got you!
If you're living in New Zealand but don't have a passport or valid New Zealand driver’s licence, we can still verify your account, as long as you can supply us with documents as per one of the three options below.
💡We can accept passports from outside New Zealand through our standard onboarding process here. Please note that you may be asked to supply additional documents during your application, including (but not limited to):
Evidence of your current residential address
Evidence of your New Zealand visa
Evidence of your account with a New Zealand banking institution (you must hold an NZ bank account to open an account with Easy Crypto)
If you don’t have a traditional photo ID like a passort or drivers licence, we can verify you based on your New Zealand birth certificate, if this is provided along with ONE of the following photo identity documents (these cases will be reviewed by senior management for consideration):
New Zealand firearms licence
New Zealand certificate of identity issued under the Passports Act 1992
New Zealand certificate of identity issued under the Immigration New Zealand Operational Manual that is published under section 25 of the Immigration Act 2009
New Zealand refugee travel document issued under the Passports Act 1992
emergency travel document issued under the Passports Act 1992
You will need to get both your birth certificate and alternative photo identity document from the list above certified by a trusted referee. Once certified, these will need to be digitized (via photo or scan) and sent to our team via email for consideration and approval.
To submit your certified documents for review, simply email us on [email protected]. You will need to send us the following three things:
The digitized copy of your certified photo identity document as per one of the options above
The digitized copy of your cerified birth certificate
A selfie of you holding the photo identity document and a note that says “I am buying crypto from Easy Crypto {today's date}”.
A proof of address document.
Once approval is granted, the certified copies must be physically posted to our Wellington address below (we may grant you temporary/restricted access but if the documents don’t arrive that will result in your account being closed until we receive the copies):

💡IMPORTANT: For ALL the above options, you must make a copy of all the documents & get these certified by a JP or other authorized party. Once certified, these will need to be digitized (via photo or scan) and sent to our team via email for consideration and approval.
