How can I verify my account?

To start trading, you’ll need to verify your identity. After that, you can trade freely within your account limits. 🙂

We keep your information secure and encrypted, and it’s used only for verification (see our Privacy Policy for details).


Steps to verify your identity:

Note: any attempts to verify using false details may result in a permanent ban from using our services.


Step 1: Go to the Verification Section

Go to My Account > Account > and click on the green "Verify account" button.


Step 2: Enter Personal Details

Enter your First and Last name, date of birth, and mobile phone number - then click Next.


Step 3: Declare Purpose and Source of Funds

Select or type the Purpose for your purchase and your Source of funds.


Step 4: Choose Automated or Manual Verification

Either select to continue through our Automated verification process or our Manual verification process.

Automated: Fast, usually complete within a few minutes.

Manual: Reviewed by a human; usually done within 1-3 working days.

If for any reason you're unable to submit the required documents via our website, you can send the manual verification documents to our email address [email protected] and the team will get back to you as soon as they can.


Step 5: Provide Additional Documentation (if requested)

Depending on your circumstances, you may be asked for:

  • Second form of NZ photo ID (NZ passport or drivers license)

  • Proof of address (e.g., bill, bank statement)

  • Certified copy of passport (if applicable)

  • NZ bank account details

If you’re outside New Zealand, processing might take longer. We verify your situation manually.

Home Address Verification

If automated processes don't confirm your address, you’ll need to upload one of the following (showing your name and residential address):

  • Utility bill

  • Bank/insurance statement

  • Rental agreement

  • Government-issued letter (e.g. IRD, health)

  • Letter from school, GP, or employer help.easycrypto.com

Verification usually completes within 1–3 working days. If rejected, our team will notify you.

Without address proof, you remain at the Trial tier
(one order under NZ$1,000).


Bank Account Verification

If you're selling crypto to receive NZD:

  1. Go to Account Details → Bank account → Add a new account

  2. Upload a bank statement or payslip showing account number and your name as the account holder.

  3. Verification usually completes within 1–3 working days. If rejected, our team will notify you.

If you use a shared bank account (e.g., with a spouse), additional steps you will need to follow the above steps to verify the account.

Ensure the documents you upload clearly show your bank account's name and number. Verification must align the account holder's name with your Easy Crypto account to proceed with any orders.

Third-Party Payment Policies

Payments made from bank accounts not registered in the user's name will need to be reversed. This prevents unauthorized activities and complies with Easy Crypto's standardized policies. Refunds, minus a processing fee, will be issued in NZD after accounting for currency fluctuations that may cause financial losses. For further clarity, payments must originate from an account in your registered name with Easy Crypto. Exceptions for joint accounts are permitted only when your name is also listed, ensuring adherence to compliance requirements.

We can typically open accounts for a company or a trust, but you'll need to go through our entity onboarding process first. We assess the applications on a case-by-case basis, click here to get started:

The New Zealand government has incredibly strict anti-money laundering laws that we have to comply with and we must do additional due diligence before we can accept payments from these accounts.
