How can I verify my account?

Account verification - New Zealand

Congratulations on creating your account with us! To start trading quickly, you need to complete your account verification. 🙂

The good news is, you only need to verify your identity once, and then you can trade as often as you like within your account limits.

Rest assured that any information we collect is securely encrypted and used only for the purposes of verification. For more information please see our Privacy Policy.

💡We can accept passports from outside New Zealand through our standard onboarding process here.

Please note that you may be asked to supply additional documents during your application, including (but not limited to):

  • Evidence of your current residential address

  • Evidence of your New Zealand visa

  • Evidence of your account with a New Zealand banking institution (you must hold an NZ bank account to open an account with Easy Crypto)

If you’re located out of NZ, there’s a chance your application will be held for review - so please get in touch with our team explaining your situation and they will give you a helping hand.



You don’t have to provide us with any information we request,

however, if you choose not to,

we will be unable to provide you with our services and will close the account.


Steps to verify your identity:

Note: any attempts to verify using false details may result in a permanent ban from using our services.

Step 1

Go to My Account > Account > and click on the green Verify account button.


Step 2

Enter your First and Last name, Birthday, and Mobile phone number - and then click Next.

Step 3

Select or type the Purpose for your purchase and your Source of funds.


Step 4

Either select to continue through our Automated verification process or our Manual verification process.

▶ Automated verification:

The faster and easier option and you should be able to complete the entire process within a few minutes.

▶ Manual verification:

💡Manual verification is just as easy, however, a real live person needs to review this so your patience is appreciated.

This process does take a bit longer but we aim to have these done within 24 HRS.

If for any reason you're unable to submit the required documents via our website, you can send the manual verification documents to our email address [email protected] and the team will get back to you as soon as they can.

Verifying without a Passport or Drivers' Licence:

We know there are particular circumstances that might mean you can’t get a licence or passport… Don’t worry, we’ve got you!

Identity Verification Levels

1 - ID verified

Once your ID has been verified, you will have the following interim account limits, until we verify your home address:

  • NZ$1,000 total across all orders

  • 1 order maximum

2 - ID & home address verified

Once your ID AND home address have been verified, you will have our standard account limits:

  • NZ$100,000 total across all buy orders on the first month (once this amount is spent, limits will be topped back up to $20,000 per month from then on)

  • Daily spend cap of $20,000 per day on buy orders

  • NZ$100,000 total across all sell orders (no daily cap)

If we are able to verify your home address at the same time as your identity, our standard limits will automatically apply.

Home Address Verification

Usually your home address is verified during our automated or manual process, if this doesn't happen then you will be asked to provide evidence of your place of residence.

Without address verification you will be limited to a single order with a maximum value of $1000 NZD

We can accept a photo/screenshot or PDF of any of the following, addressed to you, clearly showing your name and address, and issued within the last 12 months:

  • Utility bill

  • Statement/letter from a bank or financial institution

  • Insurance policy document

  • Unexpired rental or tenancy agreement

  • Unexpired employment letter/agreement

  • Letter from a government agency containing a unique reference (e.g. IRD number, Client File Number, NZTA reference or Tenancy Bond reference number)

  • Letter/Statement from solicitor or accountant

  • Letter/Statement from School or Tertiary institute

  • Letter/Statement from GP, Specialist or Hospital

To verify your home address, just follow the link on your account page under Verification. Fire that through and we'll be in touch!


Bank Account Verification

To place a sell order with Easy Crypto, first verify your bank account so we know where to send the NZD!

1.Head over to the Account Details Page, scroll down to Bank account and select Add a new account.

2. Enter the bank account details and upload a JPG, PNG or PDF.

This can be either -

  • A bank statement that clearly shows your Name, the Name of your bank, Address and the account number from the last 12 months.

  • Payslips that include both your full name and bank account number from the last 12 months.

3. One of the team will review your application within 24 hours and if all the information is correct your bank account will be approved. If the information is not correct, we will be in touch to advise what is needed.


Account verification for Companies

We can accept payments from a company account, but you'll need to go through our company onboarding process first. The New Zealand government has incredibly strict anti-money laundering laws that we have to comply with and we must do additional due diligence before we can accept payments from these accounts.

We assess the applications on a case-by-case basis but we can generally sort this out for you. To onboard your business/ company, please head to the site and use the chat bot to submit your application.

To get started, you'll need the following things handy:

  1. The company details (name, NZBN, website etc)

  2. Evidence of the company's registered address

  3. Evidence of the company's source of funds (such as audited financial statements)

  4. Copies of IDs for all beneficial owners (directors & >25% shareholders)


Information on Trusts

Currently, we're not permitted to onboard trusts as standard customers on our platform, but there are certain cases where we may be able to grant an exception to approve the use of the funds from a Trust's bank account to purchase crypto.

To be eligible for us to consider this exception we'll need to see a copy of the Trust Deed and some recent bank statements for the trust (you'll also need a verified account with us). Fire this through in an email to [email protected] and the team will review your request. 🙂
